Driogadh
Driogadh (pronounced dree-og -ah) is Irish Gaelic for 'distil' and where ideas for artworks have been 'distilled' - planned, adjusted, and reconsidered. As such, it is a 'working diary', allowing for ideas to be 'thought through on paper'. Thinking on paper is something I have always exhorted students to do, allowing them to edit ideas after they have recorded them, rather than making selections before ideas have had a chance to crystalise and develop. Spells such as these help students to develop greater problem solving skills.
