The canopy, with its trailing vines, hangs above the forest floor. As such, it is reflected in the mirror 'river'. Adding to the magical, enchanted feel of the forest and therefore the extent of immersion for the viewer, the canopy is suspended from the gallery ceiling, above eye level. Resembling a 'real' forest canopy but imbued with symbolism and motifs from the fairy tale vernacular, the canopy reinforces the spectacle of the enchanted forest and disrupts a normative world view.
